Celebrating in their hearts

Reflecting on Western Easter’s conclusion and the upcoming Easter celebrations for followers of Christ in the East, we’re reminded of the privilege we hold in gathering with loved ones and our Christian communities. Yet, in some parts of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), where followers of Christ are marginalized minorities, Easter observance is rare due to a lack of access to on-the-ground churches.

As we rejoice in the resurrection of our Savior, it’s vital to stand in solidarity with our MENA brothers and sisters, supporting them through prayer and awareness. Despite adversity, ministries like Miracle Connect offer solace, highlighting the resilience of faith. Let’s not take for granted our freedoms, but rather, extend our love and support to those denied such rights, embodying Christ’s teachings of compassion and solidarity during this season of renewal.

“The kindness of Believers drew me to Christ”

My name is Mahmoud, I am from Egypt and I am 33 years old. I am surprised by the tolerance and kindness shown by the followers of Christ in my neighborhood, and the love they show for all people. I lacked this type of kindness and acceptance in my life, so I came to the page of Miracle Connect, to learn more about Christianity. The counselor explained to me about the cross, redemptive atonement, and how Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem humanity from eternal damnation. I prayed with the counselor and accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and my Lord. I also received a Bible to understand more about Christ the Savior.

• Let us pray for our brothers and sisters in the Middle East and North Africa, that they may find strength and courage amidst persecution, and that they may experience the joy of Easter despite the challenges they face.

• May we lift up ministries like Miracle Connect, which provide support and fellowship to followers of Christ in the MENA region, asking for God’s continued blessing and guidance in their efforts to spread hope and faith.

• As we reflect on the blessings of freedom and community we enjoy, let us pray for a greater awareness and empathy towards those who lack these privileges, and for opportunities to actively support and uplift them in their journey of faith.
