Nour from North AfricaFebruary 17, 2022
One of our constant prayers at Miracle Connect is that those who come to faith will share the joy of knowing Christ with their friends and family members: that they will be fruitful and multiply God’s kingdom by boldly (and wisely) sharing the good news of salvation and redemption through Jesus. With this in mind, it’s an absolute thrill to share Nour’s story with you today…
Nour* is a self-confessed ‘religious hardliner’—or at least he was. He lives in North Africa and comes from a town with a large Qur’anic school. He also works for the police—known to consistently make life difficult for Christians.
One day, Nour stumbled upon Miracle Connect’s Facebook page and got in touch to argue with the team. He was offended by Christianity and desperate to defend his own religion.
Nour was astonished to learn that the team member he was talking to had the same religious background as him. He was soon hearing about Jesus and learning about the redemption of the cross.
‘One day,’ Nour shares, ‘this man of non-Christian background asked to pray for me and I mockingly replied “okay.”
‘As he prayed, I found myself shouting and felt something like fire move through my body. I couldn’t stand on one of my feet.
‘I realized later that I had received healing from demonic possession. Following this discovery, I asked Jesus to come into my heart, confessing my sins and surrendering to Him.’
We kept in touch with Nour, supporting him in his faith. Not long after, he was baptized which, he says, ‘was the most blessed day of my life.’
‘Since I surrendered my life to Jesus,’ writes Nour, ‘I have never stopped talking about Him to others. There’s no hesitation when I talk to people about salvation.
‘One of my best friends accepted Christ because he saw a significant change in me. This opened more doors to speak to other friends about God’s love. I have seen some freed from depression and deep trauma.’
Nour has now moved to a less conservative part of his country, where it’s safer for him to follow his faith. He is hugely grateful to the Lord for growing a group of believers in his neighborhood, where he continues to study the Bible, share his faith, and teach others.
What to pray
Praise God for Nour as well as nine others we are aware of who are also keenly sharing their faith.
Pray for these brothers and sisters to:
- be protected as they share
- have discerning spirits
- stand on God’s word and its promises
- see miracles and wonders in their communities
