April 20, 2017An increasing number of Arab viewers are ready to confront cultural and religious traditions that are distorting their views of a loving and forgiving God.-We keep hearing from viewers who are encouraged and find new joy after discovering a new freedom through Jesus Christ.
This is a response from a viewer in Algeria who has followed Miracle Connect for several years:
– I give great thanks for this Channel and the TV-programs that you broadcast. My wife and I need to know Jesus, can you help us? writes Fawzi from Algeria.
Miracle Connect hears from many mainstream Arabs who are frustrated over traditional taboos, related both to culture and religion. These restrictions can include the inherited beliefs behind fasting, forbidden foods and even the traditional view of Paradise.
-There is a need to bring up issues that have been untouchable “taboos” and let viewers hear the Biblical truths so that they can choose for themselves, says the director of Miracle Connect for the MENA region.
In contrast to western countries, where theological debates and questions about faith are an integrated part of the culture, there has been little opportunity to discuss these issues in public settings in North Africa and the Middle East.
In response to this need, Miracle Connect is now producing a new TV-series that challenges accepted traditional beliefs and religious practices that are causing an increasing level of frustration among the general Arab public.
-When people see such terrible abuses in the name of religion from religious and political leaders in the MENA region, they wonder what is really true. There is a restlessness we have never seen before, and many are starting to challenge the traditions and rituals that are affecting and limiting them, says the director.
-We will address issues such as who is the God of heaven, how to pray, why we fast, what’s in Paradise and Halal or forbidden foods.
-In other words, this program aims to restore the true image of God that has been twisted and distorted in our region for centuries, she adds.
With a potential television audience of more than 400 million viewers, Miracle Connect is in a unique position of influence. By creating interactive television programs by incorporating social media and smartphone apps, the channel is engaging with thousands of mainstream viewers across the Middle East and North Africa.
-Our ultimate goal is to invite our viewers into a relationship with God through the true knowledge of who He is, and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, explains the director.
-Jesus Christ said that he had come to set us free. This freedom is good news, also when it comes to how we live out our lives here on earth.
The new TV-series takes the form of a Radio talk-show. Two people are seated in a studio layout with radio microphones. They will listen to and comment callers struggling with their faith due to wrong perceptions about God from culturally accepted rituals, traditional practices, and inherited beliefs.
Miracle Connect broadcasts the gospel 24 hours a day to the Arab world over NileSat. This means that for people in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria and Egypt, the gospel is just a click away on the remote control. Through social media we are also connecting and interacting with thousands of viewers in closed nations. If you think it is important to give Arab people a chance to hear the life changing message of Jesus Christ, please support this ministry with a gift today.
