Light in the darkness

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, the days have been getting short, the clocks have gone back, and there’s a definite chill in the air. The season of winter is upon us: a season in which the trees and plants retreat, and the ground grows cold and hard.

When winter arrives, many of us struggle with the lack of warmth and light, but we know this is just for a time, and try to make the best of it. We use light and heat to warm our bodies as well as our spirits.

With the Lord, though, there is light and warmth all year round. His mercies never fail and His love endures. He ‘is always at his work to this very day’ (John 5:17).

Lives changed

God continues His work among the people we love throughout the Middle East and North Africa. We see this not just through the numbers but in the messages we receive. Testimonies of lives changed by a Father’s wondrous love…

‘I asked for change’

Jamil* in Morocco is 30 years of age. He had been following Miracle Connect’s TV programs for some time before deciding to reach out.

‘I felt lost,’ says Jamil. ‘I was overwhelmed with many burdens and had no purpose, filled with sin, evil, envy, and gossip. Satan controlled my life.’

Jamil saw people cheating, harassing one other, being sexually immoral, and using ‘dark’ magic. He knew this wasn’t good or right.

‘One day, I started searching,’ he writes. ‘I wanted to find a solution for my life.’

Jamil got to know about Christianity through our follow up team. He learned about ‘the real God’ whom he did not know before. He says, ‘I asked with my whole heart and life for change and asked Him to enter my life. I am now praying and thanking Him for giving meaning to my life, liberating me, and changing me.’

Jamil wants to be baptized and is continuing the path of discipleship. We pray that he may be Spirit-filled, standing strong in a place where there is much darkness.

What the numbers say

This year, we have been thrilled to be in touch with more than 160,000 people, to counsel almost 50,000 individuals, and to present the Gospel to 3,190 Arabic speakers.

Give thanks for the 202 who have professed faith in Christ, 324 who have received discipleship, and 12 cell groups that have been launched. Lift up each of these men and women, praying that they may have a solid faith and be a light within their communities.
