God’s plans for the MENA

During this Advent season, one may reflect on the story of Christ’s birth and consider how every detail of this world-changing event was part of God’s plan. But have you ever considered why God chose the Middle East as the birthplace of Christ? Why did God choose that particular period in time and that specific part of the world to gift His only Son as the light and Savior of the world?

The Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have been burdened by wars, violence, and conflict for thousands of years. Imagine living in a place where peace, security, and social stability are not only foreign concepts but also completely unimaginable and seemingly unreachable.

Yet, with God all things are possible, and as we continue to answer the calling to serve and share God’s love in this part of the world, we must trust that He has a plan to use our contribution – however small it may seem in the bigger picture.

Christ set me free from addiction

My name is Bilal and I am from Morocco. When I first started engaging with the social media page of Miracle Connect for North Africa I asked many questions, particularly concerning Adam’s fall and other topics. However, the real game-changer was finally understanding the significance of the words “Son of God”.

From that point forward, I began to open up to the counselor, and I told him about my addiction to pornography. He talked to me about Christ and how He came to set us free from all addictions. And that He is the only one who can give people – those who accept Him as their personal Savior  – a new heart and a new nature.

Once I understood the message of salvation and redemption that the counselor shared with me, I accepted Jesus and I now study the Word of God and the Christian faith.

The counselor sent me the greatest gift: the Bible

My name is Rahma, and I am from Yemen. I am a married woman. One day, I contacted one of Miracle Connect’s social media pages. The counselor who answered my call spoke to me about God’s love, the redemption, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I paid close attention to her, especially when I began to understand that Jesus saved me from my sin by His death and resurrection. Finally, she prayed for my salvation, and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Later, she sent me the greatest gift I’d ever received: the Bible.

Lord, in this Christmas season, we pray for Christ’s transformative peace to touch hearts in the Middle East and North Africa. May the message of Your love and Jesus’ redemptive work bring healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation, breaking down walls and ushering in a lasting peace beyond human understanding.

Use us, Lord, and the Miracle Connect ministry, where You see fit and guide our decisions, actions and words so we may continue to reach and touch the lives of those who need it the most in the MENA.
