In 2015 Miracle Connect launched a television series for new believers in Arab countries. As the number of Jesus followers in this region is increasing, there is a desperate need to help them grow in their faith. The focus of this television series it to bring new believers into a mature relationship with Christ.
For new believers from Muslim background, it is extremely difficult to find churches or Bible study groups to join. In some countries, it is illegal for Muslims to enter churches, and both the churches and the new believers could face persecution.
The new discipleship program on Miracle Connect is adapted to people living in this region and the challenges they face. The viewers are also invited to join an online program on Miracle Channel’s Arabic Facebook page where they get a personal mentor through 20 lessons.
About 140 viewers are presently discipled online.
There is also a Facebook page in Arabic that follows the Discipleship program with shorter video sequences and helpful articles.
-On this Facebook page, we have 1700 hundred followers that we are in regular contact with through messaging. Every week we publish at least 140 new posts and articles on how to live as a follower of Christ, says Miracle Connect’s follow-up office.
Through this Facebook page, three new discipleship groups have formed organically and meet regularly to study the Bible in Arab cities. Most of these participants come from Muslim background.
-There is one new believer in particular who would have liked to study at a theological faculty to prepare for fulltime ministry. As this is not possible for this person, we are assisting him with advanced studies, reports the follow-up office.
Here is the story of one student who asked to be discipled:
«Greetings to Miracle Connect. I was raised in a Muslim family, and I studied and received a degree in Islam and its doctrines. But despite this, I have doubted if this is the right way. Is there a better one?
My family and I went through tough times when my father abandoned us, and I was suddenly responsible for the entire family. We have lived through difficult times, and sometimes there was not enough money when my younger siblings were sick and needed medical treatment. We asked many people for help, but no one reached out to us.
One day when I visited a friend, I saw Miracle Connect on TV, and I was filled with peace. I understood then that peace comes through Jesus Christ. I also understood that Jesus takes all our burdens. Now I would like to study the Christian life together with you. And I would also like to have a Bible.”
Miracle Connect broadcasts the gospel daily to 400 mill viewers across the Arab region in North Africa, the Gulf and the Middle East. Every day new viewers contact us with questions about Jesus and the Bible.
