A TV show for Syrians

It’s been more than twelve years since conflict broke out in Syria. A conflict that has forced 14 million Syrians to flee their homes to other parts of the country or abroad.

In Syria, the Covid pandemic and war in Ukraine have contributed towards a “humanitarian and economic crisis of epic proportions” according to the UN’s Special Envoy for Syria.

It is greatly concerning that nearly 70 per cent of Syrians are now reliant on aid from humanitarian organizations.

Supporting the people of Syria

Zahmet Hayah (Busy Life) is the name of a new weekly TV show that Miracle Connect has produced especially for Syrian people.

Aimed at women and men aged 35 plus, we want to reach out to Syrians with topics that are relevant to their situations. Topics like pain, suffering, loneliness, anger, and violence.

Viewers are always encouraged to get in touch to share their thoughts, concerns, and needs. They can speak with or message a member of our team, and we make it a priority to listen.

We can’t solve all their problems, but we can show them that they are not forgotten and not unimportant. We pray that they will experience God’s love and come away feeling valued and loved.

A prodigal son

When a member of our team sent Malik* the story of the prodigal son, he was greatly amused—because he was a prodigal son.

Malik had spent time in prison, and it was there he repented for all he had done. This marked the beginning of his journey to faith—one that took him to Miracle Connect’s Facebook page.

 “The parable of the prodigal son left me astounded by God’s love,” says Malik. “The unconditional love He demonstrates to me, regardless of my past.”

Our team shared about Jesus with Malik—the sacrifice He made for him and for any who believe and accept this wonderful gift. Malik asked for proof and was presented with historical evidence and logical arguments.

When he was ready, Malik gave his life to Christ, praying in the presence of one of our team. We continue to follow-up with him and support him as he walks forward in faith.
