TV-viewers crave answers in Middle East chaos

-The biggest change I can see over the last 3-4 years is the kind of questions our viewers now ask us, says one of Miracle Channel’s television producers.

Responsible for several of Miracle Channel’s major productions, the television producer is now completing a master in theology to be even better equipped to meet many of the needs of our Arab viewers.

-The questions are theologically challenging. It is not enough any more to say that God loves you. There is a conscious awakening taking place all over the Arab world, and for the first time, many are challenging the government, local authorities and religion, the producer says.

-But on the other hand we see that when our viewers get answers to the questions that satisfy their mind and their intellectual thinking, they become strong and convinced believers and passionate followers of Christ.

During the first six months of 2014, Miracle Channel engaged with 886, 493 viewers through Facebook, YouTube, Follow up and the discipling of new believers.

The producer further explains that the political and religious awakening taking place among a large percentage of the population makes Miracle Channel’s programs more relevant than ever.  The 24 hour satellite channel can be watched by 400 million Arab speaking people in the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf countries. The channel is finding that particularly the younger generation across this entire region are asking questions and seeking after truth. Their search will often bring them to satellite-TV and the Internet, two uncensored sources.

-I can use as example a television program we have for youth called Prohibited Questions for Youth. I have to say that I am really shocked when I hear how little Arab youth in general know about basic physical anatomy, respectful relationships and sex as they enter adulthood, says the producer, who is also of Arab background.

-Research tells us that in the Arab world, sex is the most searched word. But this is not helpful. What youth or anyone learns on pornography sites are only hurtful and detrimental to themselves and their loved ones. So on this program we have small segments where we drive youth to our Social Medias and website. Here they can interact and ask questions, watch programs on specific topics, and read related articles, the television producer explains.

Another series called Questions about the Christian Faith also generates high response from viewers. Most of the callers for this program are from Muslim background asking scrutinizing questions about the Bible and  the Trinity while considering the historical accuracy of the gospels.
-What we have here is a very loyal audience, usually from Muslim background, who will follow these programs over a long time. Many are sincerely interested in learning the answers to the theological questions that are asked, and they are very much seekers of truth. We have heard from several viewers who confess a new faith in Jesus Christ after following this program series. And of course there is the live prayer program called God hears Your Prayer. We have broadcast this program with Dr. Nora for four years now.  She is a very anointed and gifted teacher and counselor who is also a medical doctor. The counseling she is able to provide is amazing at the same time as God really does answer the prayers on this program. We get many testimonies from viewers thanking God for prayer answers.

-Different programs reach different people, and it is greatly encouraging to see that many, many viewers are finding God through Miracle Channel’s programs on Satellite  and follow-up teams, the producer confirms.

Greetings to the team of this program, and especially to Dr. Nora. I am a blessed mum of 2 girls, and the oldest girl was really sick. The doctors had made exams, x-rays, and she suffered for years. God reached out his hand, and in one night everything changed. She became a normal person again. Teachers and doctors were confused. I live in Europe, and everyone says it is a miracle.

Asked for prayer because her father was in the ICU, and had to breathe on a respirator, but thankfully her father became better and is now able to breathe on his own.

Her father was bothered by cancer, and we prayed together for him. Before he died, God was good with him, so he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was very far away from God earlier, but he died happily as he finally had Jesus in his life.

I would like to thank you deeply for the prayer time on the program as I prayed with you for my aunt for her legs, and my dad for his eyes. My aunt had been in a metal cast for 5 months, and was about to have big surgeries, but thank God for being great with her, she is now fine and has removed her cast.
