Discipleship: Our Top Priority
June 29, 2020Praying Together – This September
August 22, 2020So far this year, 123 individuals have experienced the joy of discovering Jesus through Miracle Connect’s ministry. We praise God for each and every one of these men and women.
Our follow up team is providing much support to our new spiritual brothers and sisters as their faith journeys unfold. Watch this video to learn about some of the obstacles they’ll face and where Miracle Connect steps in:
Running the Distance
Running is a really good metaphor for faith – used numerous times in the Bible.
If you’ve ever tried to run, you’ll know it’s not as easy as it looks. In fact, it can be surprisingly unpleasant if you’re not very fit!
Running any distance requires discipline: regular training to build up your levels of endurance. It also requires a good pair of shoes, appropriate clothing, and a bottle of water. Without these, you won’t get very far.
The same applies to us as Jesus’ followers: we must spend regular time in prayer and in God’s Word. We must clothe ourselves in garments of salvation and righteousness, drinking the water of life (Isa 61:10, Rev 22:17). If we don’t, our spiritual lives suffer.
A gift of $20 or more will enable us to support more new believers on their faith journey.
Strength to Endure
It’s not difficult for our team to tell people that Jesus is the answer to their problems, but – continuing our running theme – this is like telling them where to run, not how to get there. Both are important.
Living in a place where Christianity is the minority religion is tough for a follower of Christ. But having the ability to read God’s Word and apply it to their situation means they are equipped to endure and overcome. Better still, they’ll be able to help others!
Clinging to God’s Word
I have suffered since accepting the Lord Jesus as my Savior. My husband’s family despise me.
I now cling to God’s Word, which helps me face my problems.
