Miracle Channel celebrates 15 years on air!
April 25, 2012Questions about the Christian Faith draw viewers to Christ
May 18, 2012A North African woman sent us her dramatic life story of teenage marriage, loss of children and severe drug addiction. But after watching Miracle Channel she and her husband got their own miracle.
At the age of 16 I was a veiled Muslim bride that was married to a Christian man. He soon converted to Islam. I continued my High School education and had two kids. When I graduated I went to trade college where I befriended a Christian classmate. She knew that my husband had converted, and through my influence she converted to Islam as well.
At the time I was giving Quran lessons and I was very ardent in my faith. I also led a girl I met at the hairdresser and a young boy to Islam. But after seven years of marriage I divorced my husband, and my boys went to live with my husband’s mother so she could raise them. I now see that this was a blessing as his parents are Christians who truly know God and they were raised in a Christian home.
Then five years ago I remarried a Muslim from a Muslim background. He changed my life in a very bad way. He was a drug addict, and though I tried to help him stop, I got addicted myself. My parents tried unsuccessfully to help me. I lost all my money on drugs. In the past four years, we used more than half a million dollars on our addiction. We got to the point where we had to sell all of our furniture and electronic devices. We sold everything we had.
But in March I secretly started watching your channel behind my husband’s back. Through your programs I started to love Jesus, and I wanted to live like a Christian. I had doubts, and I could not understand what God’s son meant, and what redemption was. But my husband noticed the change in me, and he saw me change the channel every time he walked into the room. He decided to find out what I was watching. Then he started watching Miracle Channel behind my back! One day we confronted each other with what we were doing. Just like me, he had started to love Jesus. At that time, we were up to our heads with the addiction, and we were lost. We decided to pray the Christian way, and we told God that we were lost. We had prayed to Allah before with no use. We begged him for his help to get over this addiction, but nothing happened. But now we know that Jesus is the God of miracles.
The surprise was that we stopped doing drugs. We simply stopped, with no pain, no withdrawal symptoms. As if a godly touch came upon us. Our hearts hated drugs and our lives changed in a strange way. Now we are both Christians. I read the Bible every day, and I try to learn more about my beloved Father and Jesus Christ. God healed us and I can never deny Christ.
