Salim from Morocco

Salim* was brought up in Morocco, following the majority religion of his country, but—quite unusually—his father said he should approach his faith with reason rather than just accept it at face value.

Because of this open upbringing, Salim had an interest in finding out more about Christ and Christianity. He could see that his religion was full of rituals while making many assumptions about God. What he didn’t see was any relationship between man and God, while in Christianity there was Christ, God’s Son come to earth.

‘I went through a difficult period,’ writes Salim. ‘I was grieving the death of my father who was closest to me. I wanted a better place for him after passing.’

Salim kept on researching, and one of his many searches led him to Miracle Connect’s Facebook page. He made contact with our team.

‘After months of discussion, I had answers about God,’ says Salim. ‘I experienced something completely new: His unconditional love.

‘He is a humble God, a kind God. He is more wonderful than earthly fathers. He is the comforter, who has divine authority to save whoever believes in Him.’

Our team in Morocco helped Salim make his profession of faith in Jesus. He then received months of discipleship and was baptized. Recently he had an opportunity to share his faith with his sister, who—praise God—also accepted Jesus!

Salim continues to grow in faith and longs to see the rest of his family put their trust in Christ. Let’s pray, alongside him, that they will ‘receive God’s abundant provision of grace’

through Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17, NIV).
