Repentance is insufficient to atone for my sins

My name is Badees, and I am a 26-year-old unmarried man. I am self-employed. I feel terrible for myself and want to make things right by turning to God. I was feeling lost at the time. I believed that doing good would bring me closer to God and lead me to repent.

Yet, after hearing the account of the Pharisee and the tax collector, I recognized that good acts and repentance are insufficient to atone for my sins. Eventually, I realized that only God is the one who decided to release me from my sins, and only He can take the initiative to get closer to me. As a result, He came to us and took on the form of Man. Then He died for me in order to redeem me and atone for my sins and iniquities. I accepted Him as my personal Savior of my life.
