Arab family touched by Jesus

As the wind blew the hot and dusty sand from the Sahara desert through the cracks in the wall of her house, the young mother of 5 children was restlessly pacing the floor. She suffered from debilitating health issues, and their recent move to the Sahara desert made her even more lonely.

Her health issues kept her trapped in her home, and despite the care and concern from her husband, she was bored and unhappy. She spent part of the day doing the one thing she could do, considering she had never gone to school and was illiterate; she watched television.

As a religious person, she was soon attracted to Miracle Channel. She found many of the topics on Miracle Channel interesting. But she had never before heard anyone pray to Jesus. In fact, she had been warned against the people of the book, and how they had distorted the truth.

But after watching several real life stories of how Jesus healed the sick, she decided to give it a try. One day she joined the host on Miracle Channel as she prayed for the viewers in Jesus name. As the days passed, the young mother discovered to her amazement that her health issues were gone!

Now she wanted nothing more than for her family to learn about Jesus too, but decided they needed to see the television programs for themselves. The African soccer cup was coming up, and her family would be glued to the television screen. She decided to make a deal with her husband.

“If I let you watch as much television as you want, then you have to watch Miracle Channel with me,” she told her husband. She used the excuse that she needed help with some information on the Channel that she was unable to read. Her husband agreed, and soon the entire family was watching Miracle Channel between the soccer games.

The father was surprised by what he saw, and it didn’t take long before he decided that he also wanted to follow Jesus. It also helped that he could see for himself how Jesus had healed his wife’s sickness.

This family is now living witnesses for Jesus in their community, and they host a house church in their home. They are all baptized and have been discipled in their new faith.

One of the sons in the family has a great passion for reaching other young people in North Africa. He started a Facebook page where he shares biblical principles and values.
