Arab girl saw Jesus in a dream
April 4, 2014An Arab couple who loves Jesus is making a significant impact for the gospel in the Persian Gulf through Miracle Channel.
One of Miracle Channel’s national evangelists and his wife make their living in one of the Gulf countries while discipling followers of Christ.Miracle Channel is a 24 hours christian satellite channel that broadcasts the gospel to North Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf countries, but the channel can also be watched in Europe and North America as well as online. In 2013 the channel had over one million viewer engagements, including tens of thousands who called for follow up and prayer.
Some of the new believers the couple in the Persian Gulf disciple are viewers who watched Miracle Channel and are now being followed up by local believers on the ground. But Miracle Channel’s television programs are also a helpful tool for the couple as local families want to learn more about the gospel.
The wife works at a home for special needs children and come in direct contact with families that are in great need of encouragement and comfort. Her husband is a strong bible teacher. He recently started a three month leadership training program in their home church, and weekly discipleship groups continue to grow and flourish as new families are joining.
-As for me, the wife says, we have new families joining us continually at the special needs center.
-The relationships get stronger the longer I am there and I continue to be amazed at this opportunity that God has given me to be among these wonderful people and for the love He has given me for them. A special joy this past month has been meeting a young woman from a different background who is a true seeker of Jesus. We have met with her several times over the past few weeks and a week ago she became a true follower. Please pray for her as she begins her walk into her new life.
On a trip to Lebanon recently the couple was also able to visit a Syrian refugee camp.
-There are over 1.8 million refugees in Lebanon now amongst a population of 4 million Lebanese, and the numbers are growing. But it is encouraging to see the projects that have begun in reaching out to many of these needy families, both in relief and educational support. God is working in their midst as they see hearts opening to Him and His Word, says the wife.
Please pray for this couple and other believers in Arab countries as they live out the gospel in their communities.
